Engineering Manager, SRE Cloud

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our SRE teams in Tallinn. The team is combining software and systems engineering to build and run fault-tolerant systems. Our SRE team at Bolt ensures that our services are reliable and run smoothly, no matter what is happening. Our SRE teams are also keeping SLA at a high rate so our customers can use our services all the time!

About the role

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Engaging, influencing, and evangelizing SRE practices with development, operational, and product groups to align technology service/solution delivery.
  • Participating in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and availability in the Cloud.
  • Effective team leading, collaborating with our SRE Engineers and Software Engineers, and giving proper feedback to our Engineers.
  • Driving quality accountability within the organization with well-defined processes, metrics, and goals for process quality.
  • Managing availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of Bolt applications development by instilling engineering reliability into the development life cycle with a focus on fault-tolerant approaches.
  • Driving capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation, and other non-functional systems requirements.
  • Implementing metrics-driven processes to ensure service quality targets are met.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve existing solutions and services are identified and communicated.

About you:

  • You have former Management or Team Lead experience.
  • You are experienced with DevOps/SRE architecture.
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You have solid experience in making data-driven and metric-driven decisions.
  • You can motivate, inspire, and attract other great people to work with.
  • You have a drive for leading initiatives and features till the end, even if the last mile is the hardest.
  • You are empathetic while helping individuals overcome obstacles and you collaborate with others effectively.
