To drive in Dubai, your vehicle must:
- Have an RTA vehicle registration for an RTA-approved limousine
- Have at least 4 passenger seats
- Have fully functional air conditioning
- Be clean and in good condition with no cosmetic damage
- Have no commercial branding
- Display an L Plate Number in compliance with RTA regulations
- Maintain a valid Commercial Comprehensive Insurance policy
- Be an RTA-approved vehicle, listed with the RTA or confirmed in the awarding letter provided to the limousine company
Abu Dhabi
To drive in Abu Dhabi, your vehicle must:
- Have an ITC vehicle registration
- Hold a valid ITC permit, similar to the RTA limousine permit
- Be manufactured within the last 5 years
- Be clean and in good condition with no cosmetic damage
- Have no commercial branding
Additional rule for UAE nationals:
- You can use a vehicle registered under your own name or under a first-degree relative’s name (parent, sibling, or child).
- If it’s registered to a relative, you must provide a notarized court letter confirming the relationship and granting permission to use the vehicle for commercial purposes.
