Why does my bank statement show “BOLT.EU/…”?

This is a payment descriptor — a short code your bank uses to identify a Bolt transaction. It is not a web address and cannot be opened in a browser. Here's what it means.

How to read the descriptor

A Bolt payment descriptor follows this structure:

BOLT.EU / <service code> / <10-digit timestamp>
PartExampleWhat it means
BOLT.EUBOLT.EUThe payment went to Bolt
/<letter>/RThe Bolt service used (see table below)
/<10 digits>2604081424Date and time of the payment in Greenwich Mean Time (YYMMDDHHMM)

Example: BOLT.EU/R/2604081424 reads as a Bolt micromobility or car rental payment made on 2026, April 08, 14:24. This may differ by a few hours from your local time.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I open it in a browser?

The descriptor looks like a web address, but it isn't one. It's a plain text code printed by your bank. To view your Bolt trips and receipts, open the Bolt app, and check your orders.

I don't recognise this charge — what should I do?

Check the timestamp against your recent Bolt activity in the app. The date and time are encoded in the last 10 digits (YYMMDDHHMM, UTC), this may differ by a few hours from your local time. Bolt Plus subscribers may see a monthly or annual renewal charge. A /CARDCHECK entry is only a verification — no money was taken.

My descriptor looks different — is it still Bolt?

Possibly. The format can vary slightly depending on your payment provider or bank:

  • The / separators may be absent on some bank statements
  • Some older food delivery orders may show FOOD.BOLT.EU as the prefix
  • Scooter services operated under a different brand may show HOPP.APP

How do I find my trip in the app?

Open the Bolt app, go to Rides/Orders, and match the date from your descriptor to a trip or order. The exact amount and time will be listed there.
