The Driver Dash Cam app turns any modern smartphone into a dash cam recording both the car interior and the road ahead, securely storing footage, and offering valuable safety insights — all without requiring additional hardware.

Why a dash cam

We’ve heard from many drivers that having a dash cam brings extra peace of mind on the road. It can help resolve customer support issues, insurance claims and even police reports. Most importantly, it enhances safety for both the driver and the passenger. But traditional dash cam setups can be costly or difficult to install — and that’s where this partnership steps in.

What the Driver Dash Cam app offers

The Driver Dash Cam app lets drivers record both the road ahead and the car’s interior simultaneously. It’s available on any iOS (16.0 or newer) and Android device with 2 cameras.

The app includes:

Internal and external video recording
GPS tracking and ride history
Cloud and local video storage options
Automatic video deletion to manage phone space

Another major benefit: it runs in the background, so it won’t interfere with the Bolt Driver app or other tools drivers use on the road. The app even includes a Picture-in-Picture view, so drivers know when recording is active.

The app is available for free, but has a premium version with additional features, allowing drivers to choose what works best for them.

Bolt does not access, store, or manage any dash cam recordings. All footage remains fully under the driver’s control through the Driver Dash Cam app.
