Bolt Partner Beata: I knew the brand of every car that passed at one and a half years old

Meet our Bolt drivers

This month we’re introducing some of the awesome women who move us. Meet Beata, a car lover who switched from rider to driver a year ago.

When we met Beata, her energetic and bubbly personality struck immediately. After a few years working as a barista, she decided to become her own boss and start driving with Bolt. “Previously I had no free time, so I wanted to be more independent and save money, plus have more time for myself”.

More than just a job, driving is a passion for Beata and her love for cars started at a very young age. “When I was one and a half years old, I knew the brand of every car that passed us on the motorway or that I saw on the street.” She shared with us that driving in London is very special. “Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Westminster — I have the opportunity to see beautiful places every day, and I love to meet new people.”

Beata first discovered Bolt back home in Poland. “I’d been a Bolt customer for a long time, so when I decided to become a driver, I didn’t hesitate. I’m happy to be in the front seat now!”

How was her very first ride as a driver? Unforgettable!

Beata’s best friend showed up as her first client, believe it or not! “I couldn’t believe that my first client out of 9.5 million Londoners was my friend. We laughed for a while — I’ll never forget that moment!”

Since that memorable first ride, she’s been driving with Bolt for more than a year. She’s helped many people travelling to their offices and taking students to school. The longest trip she took was a two-hour drive to Bournemouth, helping a client get to her mother safely. “I didn’t hesitate. The client had to get there, urgently.”

“I’m not going to lie, I’m just a really good driver!”

Beata has a 5-star average rating, so we couldn’t let her go without asking her top tips:

  1. Put the customer first;
  2. Be friendly and polite;
  3. If you like what you do, you’ll be good at it.

“I think you need to anticipate and feel what the customer needs, especially if they want to talk or not. But in the end, I’m not going to lie, I’m just a really good driver!”

Bolt Driver - Beata

Beata pointed out that people were often surprised when she tells them that she’s a driver. She would definitely like to see more women on the road. “It still seems unusual that a woman like me drives everyday for a living. Women are not recognised enough in the industry, so I would say give it a go — it will be worth it!”

If you love driving and being your own boss, and are searching for a way to make some extra money, sign up today and start your journey as a Bolt driver.
