It’s been a few months since the UK government enacted lockdown measures which aimed to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Since then, masks or face coverings have become a staple item that you remember to take with you just like your wallet, keys or phone. The same goes for social distancing, this is now our new normal.
But how can you social distance in case you need to take a ride across town?
Sure, preferring less crowded means of transport and having one person in the front and one in the back of the car is surely safer than sitting right next to each other, but is there more that can be done to make your ride even more secure? We’ve launched a new ride-type – Bolt Protect to answer this very question.
What is Bolt Protect?
TfL has recently approved a series of partition screens to be installed by approved dealerships for certain ride-hailing cars.
Starting from 9th September you will see a new ride-type in your Bolt app consisting only of cars with a TfL-approved partition screen installed in them. Pricing is the same as in the regular Bolt ride-type, however, due to popular demand, the arrival times may vary from other ride-types.
We hope Bolt Protect will be helpful to those seeking ways to move around London in a convenient, safe and affordable manner.
Stay safe!
Please remember that you too can help reduce the risks even further by following the NHS Covid-19 guidelines. Until communicated further, please keep wearing a mask or face covering when taking rides with Bolt (unless you have a valid medical exemption).
Stay safe!
