The total price for your trip is calculated based on:
- the reservation time
- the duration of your trip
- the distance travelled.
Bolt Drive vehicles have different reservation, duration, and distance rates - tap on a car icon on the map to check the rates.
A reservation fee is applied and added to the final price if the reservation is longer than 15 minutes, as the first 15 minutes are free.
A minimum fee is charged per trip and applied after the car is unlocked. If your ride total price is less than this, then you'll be charged the minimum fee. To see if a minimum fee applies in your market and what it is, please select a vehicle in the app, pull up the bottom sleeve screen, and scroll down to the pricing details.
The distance rate is calculated based on the kilometres (km) driven. It is not included in any of the duration rates and is always calculated separately.
The duration rate starts counting once the car is unlocked. There are minute, hourly, and daily rates.
The hourly and daily rates are fixed prices for the time only (km driven aren't included):
- Once the ride's duration price has reached the fixed hourly or daily rate amount, that fixed rate is applied and the minute fee counter stops
- When the full hour or day (24 hours) passes, the minute fee counter will resume, until reaching an hourly or daily rate amount again.
To rent a vehicle for 24 hours or more, simply reserve the car and use it until the daily cap rate is reached. When the 24 hours will pass, the duration rate will resume until the next cap rate (hourly or daily) is reached.
