How to Complete Your E-Hailing Car Declaration for EVP Renewal

Suppose you're a Bolt driver partner in Klang Valley and currently using a vehicle registered under AB or AD. In that case, you must take an essential step before renewing your E-Hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP).

To ensure a smooth renewal, declare your vehicle an E-Hailing Private Vehicle (AH) at the Road Transport Department (JPJ). Failing to do so may result in delays or even rejection of your EVP or road tax renewal.

This guide will help you understand the process and what to do.

What is the e-hailing vehicle declaration?

It’s the process of converting your car’s category in JPJ’s system from:

Private-Individual (AB/AD)

E-Hailing Private Vehicle (AH)

This update is mandatory to renew your EVP.

Why do you need to declare your vehicle?

JPJ requires this declaration to verify that your car is approved for e-hailing use. If your vehicle remains listed under AB or AD:

Your EVP renewal may be delayed or rejected.
You may face issues renewing your road tax.

Who needs to do this?

The vehicle declaration requirement applies to Bolt driver partners in Klang Valley who are still using a vehicle registered under AB or AD and have not declared their vehicle AH.

Have you already done it? No further action is needed!

How often should I declare my vehicle?

This is a one-time procedure.

However, if you previously cancelled your EVP and wish to return to e-hailing, you need to complete this declaration again.

What documents to bring to JPJ

If you go to JPJ yourself:

Copy of your IC.
Your physical EVP.
Form JPJ-EH1 (Pind.1/2021).
Form JPJK8 (Pind.1/2016).
PUSPAKOM VR1 report (if your car is 3+ years old).
Valid insurance coverage.

If someone represents you:

Copy of your and their ICs.
Your physical EVP.
Authorisation letter.
All the documents listed above.

Where to go?

You can visit any JPJ state office or branch that handles vehicle registration and licensing.

Please note: JPJ counters at UTCs are not eligible for this process.
