Monthly Invoice in Netherlands is Clear

Please note! Due to the establishment of our local Dutch entity, the invoicing and VAT rules for you as a driver have changed as of December 1, 2025.

What is a monthly invoice?

The monthly invoice is an overview of the earnings (including bonuses) paid out to you and the commission that Bolt B.V. (the Dutch entity) charges for all completed trips in the preceding month.

Where can you find monthly invoices?

You will receive this invoice via email in the first three days of every month at the email address linked to your driver profile. You can also find all invoices under the Invoices tab in the Driver Portal.

What do the invoice elements represent?

Main table:

  • App Orders – our commission for all trips you made during the stated period.
  • Compensations – all bonuses and reimbursements (for example, for missing tolls) that you received from us.

Bottom left section:

  • Your balance at the start and end date of the stated period.
  • App Payments – the total amount of all trips you performed during the month, including our commission.
  • Invoices – adjusted commission. The Invoice amount represents the App Orders (Bolt commission) minus all bonuses and compensations received.
  • Payouts – a sum of all payments transferred to you via bank transfer during the stated period.

Bottom right section:

  • Total – the adjusted commission amount paid to Bolt (equal to the amount in the Invoices section).
  • VAT – the Dutch turnover tax of 21% that is calculated on the Bolt commission.

Payment due section:

  • If the amount is €0.00, you have no outstanding amounts due; therefore, no action is required from you.
  • If the amount is not €0.00, you will either receive more trips with in-app payment methods, or you must pay the commission you owe Bolt via bank or mobile transfer.

Please note: Although 21% VAT is now charged on the commission, there are – with the exception of tolls and booking fees – no other extra or hidden costs on top of the commission that is automatically deducted from your account.

Where can I find all invoices and overviews?

All invoices and overviews are available in the portals:

Customer Invoices for Drivers: Invoices for customer trips are created by Bolt on behalf of the driver. Monthly overviews with detailed VAT information are available in .csv and .pdf format in the portal.

Bolt Invoice to Fleet Owner: Invoices for Bolt’s commission to the driver or Fleet Owner are sent by Bolt Support Services B.V. Do not forget to offset the VAT and report it in your VAT return.

Is Bolt a foreign entity?

No. As of December 1, 2025, Bolt Support Services B.V. is a local Dutch entity.

For all services we provide (our commission), you will now receive an invoice from Bolt Support Services B.V., located in the Netherlands. Invoicing and payments will be handled by Bolt Support Services B.V., and VAT processing is now subject to Dutch law.

How does VAT taxation work?

VAT is now the Dutch turnover tax that is charged on the services we provide (our commission).

  • The standard Dutch VAT rate is 21%.
  • Bolt Support Services B.V. is now a local VAT-liable entity in the Netherlands.
  • This means that the VAT on our commission is charged directly by Bolt Support Services B.V. and listed on the invoice.
  • As a Dutch VAT entrepreneur, you offset this VAT with the Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) in your regular VAT return. You pay the VAT on our commission but can deduct it as input tax, which in practice results in a zero operation (if you are VAT registered).
  • More information on this can be found on the Tax Authority's website.

And the trip the customer orders?

When a customer requests and pays for a trip, Bolt charges the customer the amount on behalf of the driver. The VAT is included in the total amount charged to the customer. The VAT is visible on the automatic trip invoices for customers, and this must also be reported to the Dutch Tax Authority.
