Introduction to Bolt Assist and Bolt WAV

At Bolt, we believe that transport should be accessible to everyone.

There are millions of disabled and older people across the UK who face daily challenges when using transport. While all Bolt services are available to everyone, we recognise that some may not meet the needs of every passenger. That's why we've created Bolt Assist and Bolt WAV (*Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) to provide extra support for those who need it most..

We’re excited to welcome you to the group of drivers delivering these services.

As a Bolt Assist or Bolt WAV driver, you’ll be making a real difference in helping older individuals and passengers with accessibility needs overcome transport challenges every day.

Why complete the Accessibility Guidance?

To access the Bolt Assist or Bolt WAV category, drivers must complete a short online guidance module. This ensures you:

  • Understand the needs of passengers with disabilities or mobility challenges

  • Know how to safely offer assistance, if requested

  • Comply with relevant accessibility regulations and Bolt’s service standards

  • Once completed, you'll be added to the Accessibility category and start receiving trip requests from passengers who rely on these services.

What You’ll Gain

  • 15% more earnings – Drivers in the Bolt Assist and Bolt WAV categories earn on average 15% more per trip than standard Bolt trips.

  • More trip opportunities – Access a wider rider base, including those specifically requesting accessible transport

  • Make a real impact – Help passengers who truly depend on these services

  • Professional growth – Gain knowledge and skills in accessible and inclusive transport
