In Germany, the tariffs for the Taxi category are officially set by local districts and metered by the taxi meter in the vehicle.

The fare consists of the following elements:

• A fixed starting price
• Kilometre rate (prices vary according to the applicable local tariff and in some areas, the rate differs depending on the distance travelled)
• Waiting time (price per hour)

Note: Bolt uses the local fare structure to guide its estimations but does not dictate the final price. Taxi prices vary depending on the city or district.

Berlin

Passengers must pay the fare indicated by the driver’s taximeter. Individual price agreements with the driver are only permitted for journeys beyond city limits. Different pricing applies to the kilometre rate and waiting time for airport pick-ups and drop-offs.

Frankfurt

Fares are calculated automatically by the taxi meter and cannot be influenced by the driver. The only exception is for large-capacity taxis where the driver can manually raise a surcharge from the 5th passenger.

Munich

A fixed price for the trip can be agreed upon between the driver and the rider using the official rates for a set distance of a 5, 10 or 45 km radius. If the distance limit is exceeded, the taximeter automatically switches to the general tariff.
