How to become a Bolt driver in the UK?

Where does Bolt operate?

The Bolt app is now available in more than 20 cities in the UK!

In order to activate your Bolt driver account, you will need to provide a series of documents. Note that requirements might vary from one city to another. You can find the list of all the required documents per city below. Make sure to have all your documents at hand and follow the instructions carefully to prevent any delay during your activation.

When you have all your documents ready, start your registration with us! 

To prevent any delay with your application;  

• Make sure your personal and car details are correct; 
• Do not upload blurry, unreadable, or expired documents. Note that you can retake a picture as many times as you want if you’re unsure about its quality.

Once your online registration is completed, all your documents will be verified by one of our agents, and you will be contacted by the Bolt team to book an appointment at one of our hubs*.

As soon as your profile is activated, you will be able to log into the Bolt driver app and hit the road!

*Note that online activation is possible in a number of cities. Keep an eye on your inbox as our team will keep you updated on the latest requirements for your city.   

Download the Bolt driver app and pick up your first passenger

First, you will need to download the Bolt driver app on your smart device – iOS or Android. To start using the app, log in with your chosen username and password. You will receive your login details directly to your email after your driver application has been approved.

Using the app is easy:

• Swipe right to go online and set your driving radius.
• When you receive a request, you will instantly see the trip’s price, category, pickup location, and destination before you can confirm it.
• Once you have reached the pickup point, swipe right to notify the passenger about your arrival.

When you reach the set destination, swipe right to finish the trip.

Getting paid

Customers pay for their journey directly via the Bolt app. You will receive your payments during the first half of the week. Depending on your bank’s processing time, the funds should take between 1-2 business days to reflect in your account.
