Ride by Hour is a new Bolt category that allows Riders to book a car for 1–2 hours at a fixed hourly rate, instead of paying based on distance.
It is designed for trips with:
- Multiple stops
- Long waiting times
- Flexible travel within the city
1. How does Ride by Hour work?
- The Rider books the car for 1 or 2 hours.
- The price is time-based, not distance-based.
- Distance is unlimited within the booked time.
- Payment is made by card only.
- The maximum booking time is 2 hours.
2. How are Drivers paid?
Drivers receive:
- A guaranteed hourly earning for the booked time.
- Payment based on the full booked duration, regardless of distance covered.
This means earnings are predictable and not affected by traffic or waiting time.
3. Can the Rider add multiple stops?
Yes. Riders can add stops during the booked time without extra per-stop charges.
4. What happens when the booked time ends?
- The trip ends when the booked time expires.
- Drivers are not required to continue beyond the booked time.
- If the Rider wishes to continue, a new ride must be requested.
5. Does distance matter during the ride?
No. There is:
- No per-kilometer charge.
- No additional waiting charge.
Everything is included in the hourly rate (within the booked time).
