DAC7 earnings report

Explanation of the DAC7 information letter about your 2024 earnings on the Bolt platform for drivers

DAC7: Bolt earnings report explained

With the entry into force of the EU Directive on Administrative Cooperation in the field of taxation (DAC7), we are required to report information on the income received by sellers and service providers using our platform from 2023. Below we share answers to the most frequently asked questions about DAC7 data submission.

Important information

By February 2025, you will have received an automated email containing the quarterly breakdown of the 2024 income (net) received on the platform and the taxes paid to it (Bolt platform). The information specified in the email (income, taxes and other information) will be provided to the State Tax Inspectorate.

Answers to frequently asked questions about DAC7 data submission.

Net earnings include all payouts you received through the Bolt platform: trip fares after commission deductions (paid in cash or by card), as well as compensations, tips, and other payouts.

If you're renting a vehicle and rental payments are deducted automatically, those are included in your net earnings — not as Bolt platform charges.

For drivers, this includes the commission and booking fees (excluding vehicle rental fees) and any other deductions. For couriers, it may include bag deposits (if provided by Bolt), deductions for undelivered or incorrect orders, or isolated cases such as overcharged cash orders.

Bolt does not deduct or pay taxes on your behalf to the Lithuanian state. Each individual is responsible for declaring and paying taxes themselves.

Earnings are assigned to a quarter based on the payout date:

  • Q1: January – March
  • Q2: April – June
  • Q3: July – September
  • Q4: October – December

App payments, compensations, and other payouts are counted in the quarter when they were included in the weekly payout. Cash payments are counted when received.

We are currently transferring data to the Estonian Tax Authority (EMTA). Once completed, the Lithuanian Tax Authority (VMI) will receive the data. After that, you’ll be able to adjust your declarations if errors occurred. Further guidance will be shared after successful transfer.

Yes. While Bolt submitted DAC7 data to EMTA for automatic transfer to local tax authorities, DAC7 does not replace your personal tax declaration. The reported income is net, but you must declare your gross income (including platform fees).

You should always rely on your own documents for tax declarations. DAC7 is a supplementary report, not a substitute for accurate personal reporting. Use invoices and summaries in the Driver Portal to confirm:

  • Trip fares → Passenger invoices
  • Compensations → Compensation section
  • Tips → Tax and Balance reports
  • Platform fees → Invoice section
