From 1 January 2026, foreign nationals providing services in the service sector in Lithuania (including drivers and couriers on all platforms) must meet Lithuanian language requirements. An exception applies to Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status — this requirement will apply to them from 1 March 2027.

Language level requirements:

• until 1 January 2028, the A1 level applies;
• the A2 level will apply after 1 January 2028 if more than 2 years have passed since the date of issue of the first residence permit in Lithuania.
