How to Register as a Bolt Driver
You can register as a self-employed driver or start driving under a fleet company. Before you begin, make sure you have a valid email address, a reachable mobile phone number, and clear photos of all required documents.
Driver Document Checklist
To complete your registration, please prepare and upload the following documents. Ensure all photos are clear and show both sides where required.
National ID Card Requirements
We accept all EU and non-EU national ID cards that are still valid. Please upload clear images of both sides.

Driver’s Licence Requirements
We accept all EU driver’s licences that are still valid. Please upload clear images of both sides.

Driver’s Permit (TAG)
The Driver’s Permit (TAG) is mandatory in Malta for anyone working as a chauffeur for hire or reward. You can obtain this licence at Transport Malta headquarters or by applying online.

Jobsplus Engagement Certificate
The Engagement Certificate records the start of your employment and shows your employment history. Obtain this document from Jobsplus or apply online.

Police Conduct Certificate
Also known as the Certificate of Good Conduct, this document is issued by the Conduct Certificate Office (CCO).

VAT Certificate
Taxable individuals must register for VAT through the electronic VAT Online Services Portal of the Commissioner for Revenue of Malta. This applies to anyone engaging in economic activities, full-time or part-time.

Light Passenger Transport Services Licence (LPTS)
Required for vehicle owners, fleet partners, and self-employed drivers. The Operator Licence allows you to operate Light Passenger Transport Vehicles. Obtainable at Transport Malta headquarters or online.

Driver’s Photo Guidelines
Your photo should be a clear, up-close selfie. Do not wear caps, sunglasses, or use filters. Avoid provocative or distorted images, and do not upload a photo of a photo.

Vehicle Document Checklist
Prepare and upload the following documents for your vehicle. Ensure all documents are valid and photos are clear.
Licence Disk
Every vehicle must have a valid licence disk, as required by the Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act. Obtainable at Transport Malta headquarters or online.

Vehicle Registration Certificate (Logbook)
The Vehicle Registration Certificate, also known as the logbook, is issued by Transport Malta.

Light Passenger Transport Services
This is required for vehicle owners only. The Operator Licence allows the holder to operate Light Passenger Transport Vehicles. This licence can be issued and obtained at TM - Transport Malta headquarters by submitting and application online.

Airport Sticker
To register Y-plate vehicles for inner lane access, submit an application form at Malta International Airport’s Main Car Park Kiosk.

Safety Kit Requirements
Your vehicle must be equipped with a safety kit, including a warning triangle, fire extinguisher, and first aid kit.
Vehicle Photo Guidelines
The vehicle photo must show the full vehicle from the front and side, with the number plate clearly visible.
