In Ireland, if you have a passenger-facing camera in your car, you must display a privacy notice informing your passengers that they are being recorded. This is particularly important if your camera can capture sound as well as video footage.
Cameras facing out of the vehicle do not need any such notice. However, make sure to advise your passengers accordingly, if any questions arise.
Make sure to delete any unneeded CCTV footage from the camera as soon as you can. Any footage shouldn’t be shared with anyone else or otherwise made available.
