Open the Bolt Drive view in the Bolt app and verify your driving licence. The verification process may take a few minutes.
After your details are confirmed, you can select and reserve the nearest car to start your trip.
The maximum reservation time is 24 hours; if the vehicle is not used by then, the reservation will be cancelled automatically.
To use Bolt Drive, you must hold a B-category driving licence and meet these criteria:
- Czech Republic: 20 years old with 1 year of driving experience
- Latvia, Germany, Poland: 20 years old with 1 year of driving experience
- Estonia:18 years old with 6 months of driving experience
- Lithuania: 19 years old with 6 months of driving experience
Some vehicles may have additional age or driving experience requirements. Check the details on the vehicle page in the app before you reserve.
Please ensure your driving licence displays the date of issue indicating your driving experience. Newly issued licences must show your total driving experience to be accepted.
Please note that certain vehicles are keyless, meaning there are no keys in the car. If the car is keyless, you will see stickers with this information inside the car.
To unlock/lock the vehicle, you have to use the Bolt Drive app.
How to start the engine
Keyless ignition:
- Put the gear shifter in position P (parking)
- Place foot on the brake pedal
- Push the start-stop button
- After the engine is ON, move the shifter to the D or R position and slowly start driving.
Key ignition:
- Put the gear shifter in position P (parking) and put the keys in the ignition
- Place foot on the brake pedal
- Turn the key in the ignition
- Once the engine is ON, move the shifter to the D or R position and slowly start driving.
