How can a driver request access to the category?

Drivers with a compliant account on Bolt can request access to the category by completing the following survey.

Does Bolt provide booster seats to drivers?

No, Bolt does not provide booster seats. Drivers who wish to access the category must use their own booster seat and ensure that it complies with European and French regulations.

Are there any specific benefits in this category?

Yes, a €7 surcharge is automatically applied, paid by the rider and fully transferred to the driver for each completed trip in this category.

Are there any requirements to access this category?

Yes. Since this category involves transporting minors, each driver’s history will be reviewed whenever they request access. Bolt reserves the right to refuse access to the category.

It is also important to note that a rating requirement applies: if a driver’s rating falls below 4.7/5, they will automatically lose access to the category. Once their rating goes back above 4.7/5, they will automatically become eligible again.

Can babies be transported in this category?

No. This category only allows trips on Bolt with children weighing more than 15 kg and at least 1 meter tall, who require a booster seat. Transporting babies requires a specific infant car seat and is not yet available on Bolt.

Am I eligible for the category if I only have a baby seat?

No. This category is not intended for babies requiring a specific infant car seat. It only applies to children who still need a booster seat.

As a driver, do I have to install the child in the booster seat?

No. An adult must accompany any child requiring a booster seat during the trip. This adult is responsible for installing the child in the booster seat.

What happens if I receive a Booster Seat trip request but do not have a seat in my vehicle?

In France, the law states that the driver is responsible for transporting minors and must ensure that an appropriate restraint system is used. Accepting a trip in the Booster Seat category therefore implies having a compliant seat in your vehicle.

Failure to do so may result in a €135 fine, a deduction of 3 points from your driving license, and removal of access to the category by Bolt.

In which cities is the Booster Seat category available?

The Booster Seat category is currently available only in Paris.

Can I leave the category if I no longer have a booster seat?

To do so:

  1. Go to the home page.
  2. Open Driver Preferences.
