With the end of European Mobility Week on 22 September, the world unites to celebrate World Car Free Day, a global initiative that encourages us all to think about how we move in cities.
More often than not, cities are built for cars and all the problems that come with them. You know, things like traffic, congestion, reduced air quality, and generally less space in cities and towns for enjoyment. But it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s why it’s important to think about the message of World Car Free Day.
This year, we’re working with local county councils across Ireland to make opting into World Car Free Day as easy as riding a bike.
We’re offering a special discount with generous support from Wexford, Sligo, Kilkenny, Wicklow, and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Councils to incentivise and celebrate the vision of a car-free world.
By entering the promo code WORLDCARFREEDAY, cyclists can unlock 40 minutes of free e-bike trips*. You’ll get two 20-minute trips, valid on Friday, 22 September, in cities across Ireland where Bolt e-bikes are present.
