When you reject orders — rejection triggers

OVERVIEW

Rejection triggers are a set of automatic triggers designed to help you manage order flow more smoothly, reduce unnecessary rejections, and maintain a positive experience for your customers, even during your busiest or most challenging moments.

These triggers are based on live rejection signals detected in real time. The goal is to step in early, before a situation escalates, so that you can keep operating with less friction.

You remain in control at all times. These are guardrails to support you, not restrictions on how you operate.

Why we use triggers

Rejections hurt your business. They affect your metrics, frustrate customers, and can lead to cancellations. Rather than waiting for problems to compound, we want to help you avoid unnecessary rejections before they happen.

We've built a system that detects patterns in your live order activity and responds with a light-touch nudge or an automatic adjustment, giving you tools to manage the situation without having to handle it manually in the middle of a rush.

You can always review your Trigger History under the Availability History tab in the Merchant Portal.

Busy Mode

For when you have more orders than you can handle at once.

What happens

If you reject an order with the reason Too many orders, we'll suggest you switch to Busy Mode. If it happens twice within a 30-minute window, we'll enable it for you automatically for 30 minutes.

What Busy Mode does for you

It slightly extends the preparation time shown to customers to provide them with more accurate delivery time. This means:

  • You don't need to rush.
  • You don't need to reject or cancel orders because you're swamped.
  • Customers are informed from the very beginning that their order may take a little longer, reduces frustration on their end.

You're always in control

You can turn Busy Mode on or off whenever you need it. Think of it as a built-in way to manage busy periods, without losing orders or upsetting customers with longer preparation time. How to do it? Just switch your status to online again.

Offline Mode

For when you cannot accept new orders.

What happens

If we detect 2 repeated rejections caused by a device issue within a day, or a rejection because your place is closed, we'll automatically take you offline. This stops new orders from coming in while you have an active issue.

Why we do this

When you're having a technical problem or you're not open, orders keep arriving and getting rejected, which harms your metrics and creates a poor experience for customers. Taking you offline prevents that cycle from happening.

Getting back online

Whenever you're ready to take orders again, just go back online the same way you do at the start of any day. You're in full control, and no one needs to do it for you.
