Understanding Your Earnings
This guide explains how your earnings are calculated when you drive with Bolt. It includes a breakdown of key terms and an example trip calculation.

Earnings Breakdown
Net Income
Your gross income from all trips after 15% GST deductions.
Journey Fees
The base fare paid by the rider, excluding booking fees, tolls, and surcharges, and excluding GST.
Bonuses and incentives Bolt pays you (like trip goals or time-based boosts).
Campaigns
Voluntary extra payments given by riders.
Tips
Booking Fees
Charges passed through to cover airport access or similar fixed costs.
Deductions
Any other fees or adjustments (e.g. refunds).
GST Remittance
If you're not GST-registered, Bolt returns a flat 8.5% credit based on the GST-exclusive journey fare and booking fee, paid as part of your weekly payout.
Bolt Commission
20% of the GST-inclusive journey fare only — not charged on tolls, airport fees, or the booking fees retained by Bolt.
Total NET
This is your final take-home pay after all fees and deductions (excluding any GST you may claim or return personally).
