Motorcycle Driver's

In accordance with Article 76 of Law No. 5016/14, it is mandatory that:

• The rider and passenger wear a helmet
• The helmet must cover the entire head (except the face).
• It must have reflective material.
• Both occupants must wear a reflective vest.

Riding without a helmet or with the helmet unfastened constitutes an infraction and puts the lives of the rider and passenger at serious risk

The motorcycle has the right to use its full lane. No need to "squeeze" between cars to get ahead.

No more than two motorcycles may travel side by side in the same lane.

It is PROHIBITED to pass between cars This means that:

• You cannot move forward between vehicles stopped at a traffic light.
• You cannot ride between lanes when there is traffic.
• You cannot zigzag between cars to get to the front.

The motorcycle must stay in its place, respecting the line like any other vehicle.

Holding onto another moving vehicle is not permitted.

In short:

• If there is a line at the traffic light, the motorcycle lines up too.
• Passing between cars is not permitted by law.

These rules aim to avoid dangerous maneuvers and reduce the risk of traffic accidents

In addition to the use of a helmet, the regulations require:

• Always ride with the lights on (Article 79).
• Have reflective material on the rear of the vehicle (Article 78).
• Do not ride with an open exhaust or without a muffler (Article 77).
• Do not carry objects that prevent keeping both hands on the handlebars (Article 74).
• Do not ride on sidewalks or pedestrian walkways (Article 75).

These provisions aim to improve visibility, vehicle control, and safe coexistence on public roads

The ANTSV Manual recommends, in addition to the mandatory helmet:

• Eye protection (visor or suitable glasses).
• A durable jacket and trousers that cover the arms and legs.
• Gloves.
• Closed, sturdy footwear that covers the ankles.

The helmet significantly reduces the likelihood and severity of head injuries, especially in impacts at urban speeds

The rider is responsible for:

• Their own safety.
• The passenger's safety.
• Compliance with the regulations in force.

Before setting off, the rider must verify that the passenger:

• Is wearing a correctly fastened helmet.
• Is properly seated and secured.

Do not begin the trip if any of these conditions is not met.

There is no short trip that justifies riding without a helmet. There is no excuse for endangering your own life or that of a passenger.

Complying with these rules is not just a legal obligation — it is a responsible decision that protects lives.
