Bolt’s services

From ride-hailing to scooters and food delivery, Bolt’s services are built to reduce car dependency in over 850 cities worldwide.

Transport avec chauffeur

Ride-hailing is Bolt's core service. The platform connects passengers with registered driver partners across 50 countries.

It offers a convenient, reliable transport option and improves connectivity within cities. Bolt offers a range of vehicle categories — from premium to affordable — to make the service accessible to all while providing a market-leading experience for driver partners.

Autopartage

Bolt Drive lets users rent a car via the app, unlock it with a phone, and pay for the time and distance driven.

This service offers the flexibility needed for longer journeys without the costs of car ownership. Bolt operates across 7 markets using both Bolt-owned and third-party vehicles.

Micromobilité

E-bike and scooter rentals are growing transport options in urban areas.

There are over 250,000 vehicles available for hire across 30 countries. Micromobility services provide strong first- and last-mile connections to public transport.

Livraison

Delivery services include Bolt Food, which matches customers with couriers to deliver from 50,000+ restaurants, and Bolt Market, which offers fast grocery delivery from both Bolt-operated and third-party stores.

These services are active in 16 countries across Europe and Africa

Autonomous vehicles

Bolt is testing self-driving technology in partnership with Pony.ai to explore how autonomous ride-hailing could support safe and affordable transport in the future.

The pilot starts in Europe, with plans to expand in the coming years.

2013–present

History

Bolt was founded in 2013 in Estonia, when 19-year-old Markus Villig set out to fix Tallinn’s broken taxi system. With €5,000 borrowed from his parents, he recruited 50 drivers and built the first version of the app. His brother Martin Villig and co-founder Oliver Leisalu later joined him to grow Bolt into the global platform it is today.

Notre mission

We’re making cities for people, not cars — with fewer vehicles, cleaner air, and more space to move.
Notre mission
Bolt’s mission is to help people move in ways that make cities work better for everyone. That means reducing private car use and offering shared mobility options that are more efficient, accessible, and sustainable.
Every Bolt trip helps free up urban space, lower emissions, and give people back their time, money, and streets.

À Londres, un chauffeur moyen perd 101 heures par an dans les embouteillages. À Paris, c'est 97. À Dublin, 81, et à Varsovie, 70*.
