To make riding with Bolt as convenient and safe as possible, we’re making card payments even more secure.
In addition to our existing processes for securely storing and encrypting your card information, we’re adding 3-D Secure for an extra layer of security.
3-D Secure ensures that every card transaction made on the Bolt app is authorised by you. It lets your bank verify your identity when you use a credit or debit card online — preventing others from using your card without your permission or knowledge.
After you add your card to the Bolt app, you’ll be taken to your bank’s web page asking you to enter a code sent to you by SMS. (Your bank uses the phone number on record, to make sure the message goes to the right person). Then, you simply need to enter the code to start ordering Bolt rides.
If you have any problems getting or entering the code, contact your bank for help. Here are contact details and 3-D Secure information pages for the main banks in Nigeria.
