Bolt and Eleport partnership to offer EV charging discounts

Apr 3, 2024

Bolt is expanding its partnership with Eleport, a leading electric vehicle charging network developer in the Baltics and Poland, to provide exclusive charging discounts to drivers and fleets operating electric vehicles (EVs).

According to our survey, 72% of drivers say public charging access and costs are the biggest challenges when driving electric vehicles.

Electric vehicle charging discounts

From now on, all drivers operating in the Electric ride type can benefit from exclusive discounts for electric vehicle charging, including high-power charging. The discount is automatically applied to their Eleport accounts, and drivers and fleets can access the offer via the Eleport charging card or app.

The discounts apply to all 190 chargers that Eleport operates in Estonia. Bolt and Eleport are working on extending the offer across all Baltic countries and Poland. Eleport offers a wide charging network in the region, comprising over 550 charging points, and is actively exploring opportunities to enter new markets in Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, and Czechia.

Helping drivers go electric

The discounts expand Bolt and Eleport’s strategic collaboration, which started in 2022 to develop the electric vehicle charging network in the Baltic countries and Poland.

By providing charging discounts and improving access to charging, Bolt aims to improve the EV drivers experience, help drivers reduce operational costs and encourage them to transition from fossil fuel to electric cars. With this offer, a driver switching from fossil fuel to an electric vehicle can expect to save up to 50% on their fuelling costs.

Expanding the discounts across other Baltic countries and Poland is our next step.

Bolt’s survey of electric vehicle drivers

According to Bolt’s survey, the access and cost of public charging are among the biggest issues EV drivers face daily.

At the beginning of 2024, Bolt conducted a survey totalling 800 answers from EV partner drivers across several markets. The results showed that 90% of EV drivers charge at least once a day, and 72% of EV drivers say locating available chargers and the high cost of charging are the biggest challenges when driving electric vehicles.

Based on previous surveys, charging discounts and Bolt’s help in improving access to charging are also some of the most popular support drivers expect from Bolt.

Bolt’s mission

Bolt’s strategy to boost electrification aligns with Bolt’s mission to help make better cities for people by providing more sustainable alternatives to private cars. Shared mobility platforms can help cities boost the electrification of passenger transport and reduce car dependency simultaneously as ride-hailing drivers travel significant distances.

We offer Electric and Green category vehicles (fully electric vehicles, hybrids and plug-in hybrids) in 71 cities across Europe and Africa and invest in adding more. Our fleet of electric vehicles more than doubled the number of kilometres travelled in zero-emission vehicles year-over-year in 2022, complemented by a fleet of over 200,000 light electric vehicles (scooters and e-bikes).

In 2023, Bolt launched a fleet of Tesla electric vehicles and several other initiatives following the long-term environmental commitment to become carbon net zero by 2040.
