Electric bikes work using a battery-powered electric motor that assists you while pedalling. The motor kicks in as you ride, giving you an extra boost, especially during acceleration or on slopes. You’re still in control and can pedal as much or as little as you like.

To ride a Bolt e-bike, ensure all components are in working order. Then, adjust the saddle to your body size, hop on, and start pedalling just as you would on a regular bike. The motor will kick in, and you'll feel a boost of power.

Yes! All Bolt e-bikes are pedal-assisted, meaning you can ride them like a regular bike. The motor only assists you while pedalling, giving you more range and a more natural ride.

To ride a Bolt e-bike, you need to be at least 18 years old, depending on your local regulations. We recommend checking specific city rules in the Bolt app.

To start a Bolt e-bike, simply open the Bolt app, find a nearby e-bike, scan the QR code on the handlebars, and you’re ready to ride. No keys, no fuss.

You can rent a Bolt e-bike directly through the Bolt app. Just open the app, tap the ‘2 wheels’ icon, use the filter, and it will show you all available electric bikes near your current location.
