What scares people the most? Bloody witches? Devilish trick-or-treaters? Spooky ghosts? Or is there something even scarier than that?
To find out, we asked car owners what spooks them out the most. Over 97% of respondents pointed to the check engine light, with 66% describing it as âscarier than ghostsâ. This makes sense, as the probability of crossing paths with a ghost is miniscule, while the risk of facing that horrifying icon on your dashboard is an inevitable part of every car ownerâs life
So, for Halloween, we created a set of pumpkin designs, statistically proven to spook all car owners in your neighbourhood.
1. Imagine youâre about to perform a gruesome operation. Your patient is a medium-to-large-sized pumpkin.
2. Cut a square hole around the stem. Letâs call it a scalp. Remove the scalp and keep it in a safe place to re-attach at the end of the operation.
3. Letâs call the insides of the pumpkin a brain. Scoop it out. Scoop. Out. The. Brain.
4. Print out the designs. (If attempting to connect your computer to the printer scares you, remember â this is Halloween).
5. Choose your first design. We recommend starting off with something mildly traumatising, like the the coolant temperature icon.
6. Cut out the stencil and draft the outlines of the icon on the pumpkin with a marker or a scalpel.
7. Cut out the shape with a scalpel. Or a sharp knife, like all the other surgeons in B-class horror movies.
8. If the cutout pieces (letâs call them limbs) donât pop out, push them inside the pumpkin and remove from the top.
9. Repeat the steps for the 3 remaining designs until you create a full horror dashboard lineup.
10. Place LED lights into the pumpkins and set them out on your staircase.
11. Sit around and indulge as unaware passersby gasp in horror, whispering, âThis is too realâ, before backing away slowly, with their hands clutching the car keys a little tighter.
Enjoy spooking car owners out this Halloween. And consider unspooking your life afterwards by riding with Bolt.
