No snowflake that has fallen or will fall is exactly alike, and the same goes for ride-hailing passengers. That’s right – each and every one of Bolt’s passengers is unique in their own way.
But even though we’re all different, there are some passenger types that we can all relate to.
Let’s look at some of the most common types of ride-hailing passengers and see which one (or maybe even more than one) you identify with the most.
The front-seat lover
This passenger is easy to spot. They’re the ones who hail a ride and then make a beeline for the front seat.
Some drivers might find this a little bit odd (why would anyone want to sit in the front when they could be relaxing in the back?).
But when you think about it, you get to see everything up close and personal from the front seat — and that can be a great experience, especially if the route is full of scenic sights.
While the front seat has its perks, we still recommend that our passengers sit in the back whenever possible.
It’s more comfortable, gives you and the driver more personal space, and guarantees your safe exit from the vehicle regardless of which way it’s parked.
The Chatterbox
This passenger is known for their ability to talk… and talk… and talk. No matter the conversation topic, they’ve always got something to say. Weather, current events, sports, you name it – they’ll talk your ear off about it.
It’s always great to meet new people and have interesting conversations, but some drivers might prefer a little bit of peace and quiet during their ride.
If you’re the chatty type, be mindful of your driver’s body language and take cues from them on whether or not they’re engaged in conversation.
The DJ
Music sounds better when it’s coming from your playlist, right? That’s the mindset of the DJ passenger.
This type of passenger loves to take control of the music and make sure everyone in the car is jamming to their tunes. Whether it’s the latest hits or some throwback classics, they’re not afraid to crank up the volume and get the party started.
Kindly ask your driver before putting on your tunes, and try to do so when the car’s not moving. This way, the driver can concentrate on the road and safely get you to your destination.
Just remember – we all have different tastes in music. So try to keep the volume at a reasonable level. Not everyone enjoys a ride in a car that feels like a nightclub on wheels.
The party animal
Fridays and weekends are the best days to let loose and have fun, and the party animal passenger knows how to let loose.
This type of passenger’s usually heading to or from a night out on the town. They might be a little bit louder than other passengers. For them, the party doesn’t stop just because they’re in a car.
We’re proud and happy to be the safe ride choice for late-night lovers. But we ask that our passengers keep partying during their ride to a minimum so our drivers can focus on the road and get everyone home safely.
The rusher
We’ve all been in a hurry to get somewhere at some point or another. But for the rusher, being late is not an option.
This type of passenger is always in a rush and expects the driver to match their pace. Fidgeting in the seat, tapping their foot, drumming their fingers and checking the time are all telltale signs of a rusher.
While we understand that sometimes you’re in a hurry to get to your destination, try to be understanding of the driver’s situation as well.
They might be caught in traffic, following the speed limit, or dealing with other road conditions that are beyond their control.
The intruder
Let’s sit in the first available car without checking if it’s our ride, right? That’s what tends to happen with the intruder passenger.
This type of passenger is usually in a hurry and doesn’t have time to verify that the car they’re getting into is indeed their ride. They just get in and hope for the best.
This can lead to some awkward situations – especially if the driver isn’t expecting visitors.
Sure, it could be a fun story to tell your friends later on. But for your safety, double-check the vehicle make/model and plate number, as well as the driver’s identity, before starting your ride.
The silencer
Just like Yin has its Yang, for every chatterbox passenger, there’s a silencer. After all, balance is key.
This type of passenger is the complete opposite of the chatterbox. They prefer to sit in silence and enjoy the ride without having to make small talk. And that’s perfectly fine!
We all need some time to ourselves now and then, and a quiet ride is a perfect way to relax and unwind.
However, if you’ve been wanting to up your small talk game, we made a list of perfect conversation starters during your Bolt ride.
We’re all different, and that’s what makes us special
There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to the type of ride-hailing passenger you are. We’re all different, and that’s what makes us special.
From chatterbox to silencer, there’s always a safe and convenient ride waiting for you with Bolt. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride – your way.
