This article includes information about adding, deactivating, removing and editing accounts. Find the instructions for managing the relevant accounts below:
Managing member accounts
Members are employees who, after adding them to the dashboard, will have access to the company’s payment method in their app.
Adding new accounts
There is a possibility to either add one member or import several members at once.
To add new members to the account:
- Open the People tab from the left menu in the business portal
- Click on Members
- Click on the Add button and choose to:
- Import people in bulk from a spreadsheet (downloadable template available in the dashboard)
- Fill out the details and add a person individually
- Add people by inviting them via email
When adding new members, please ensure to:
- Choose the correct country prefix for the phone number (e.g. +44 for the United Kingdom)
- Select a group in which you want the member to be. By default, new members will join the general group
- Insert the exact phone number the member has their Bolt account connected to.
Note: If you are adding a new member with a company number but their Bolt account is connected to their personal number, they need to create a new Bolt account with the company number. Alternatively, you can use their personal number to add their account to the dashboard.
Checking a member's status
Each member in Members under the People tab shows a status:
- Invited — you've invited the member by email; they still need to click the activation link to complete setup.
- No payment method — the member activated their account but hasn't added a payment card yet. This status only appears on employee-pay accounts — on a company-pay account, the member moves straight to Active once onboarding is complete.
- Active — the member completed setup and can order rides using the company payment method.
- Deactivated — the member was deactivated and can no longer use the company payment method.
- Invite expired — the member didn't click the activation link in time; the invitation is no longer valid and a new one needs to be sent.
Note: The Members list is filtered to show Active members only by default — change the status filter if you don't see all your members.
Deactivating and removing accounts
You can either temporarily deactivate or permanently remove members from your business account.
To deactivate a member in the business portal:
- Go to Members in the People tab
- Click on the account you want to deactivate
- Use the green slider to deactivate their account. Deactivated members won’t have access to the company’s payment method.
- You can also reactivate a deactivated member using the same slider.
To permanently remove a member from your business account:
- Go to Members in the People tab
- Select the member(s) you want to delete by ticking the relevant checkbox
- Click on the trash can icon to remove the account(s).
Deleted members won’t have access to the company’s payment method.
