Exchanging your Driving License to Polish
From June 17, 2024, due to changes in regulations, all TAXI drivers are obliged to have a Polish driving license!
If you do not have the Polish equivalent of the document, please note that the exchange process may take up to several months. Please refer to the government site below for more details.
What are the requirements?
Requirements may change by city. You must go to the District or Commune Office to submit the following documents:

Application Form for the replacement of the license.

Profile Photo
-
ID Card or Passport

Confirmation of payment of processing fee

A document confirming your place of residence i.e. registration of residence

A photocopy of a foreign driving license with a Polish translation - the translation must be made or certified by a sworn translator or consul

A document from the embassy/consulate confirming the authenticity of the exchanged driving license OR Confirmation of payment of the fee for issuing a document confirming the authenticity of the driving license by the embassy/consulate

A document confirming residence in Poland for at least 185 day e.g. Visa, Residence Permit, Stay Card, Employment Contract, Study Certificate, Date of assigning PESEL Number or Tenancy Agreement.
Note: If you have a driving license issued in a country where there is an armed conflict (such as Ukraine), the procedure for replacing your driving license may be faster. Provide the official with a certificate confirming your employment as a driver (e.g. a certificate from the fleet, your own business or an employment contract as a driver). Such a certificate should provide information about the form and period of employment.

How long does the process take?Approximately 1-3 months from the day that the office receives confirmation of the data from your foreign driving license and payment confirmation, the driving license will be ready for collection.
