Bolt CityFix is a new in-app feature, available in certain cities only, for reporting faults in a city’s infrastructure — a pothole, an obstacle, or unwanted graffiti.
In this blog post, you’ll learn how to use the feature to benefit your city and everyone there.
What’s in it for people?
Many Bolt users ride scooters and e-bikes daily — for commutes and leisure.
They’ve told us they’d like quicker and easier ways to flag street issues to the local authorities. So we made CityFix!
With CityFix, Bolt app users can give specific, actionable feedback and suggest improvements regarding local infrastructure in specific cities.
You don’t have to actively use Bolt services to report a problem. Just download the app if you haven’t, sign up, and get ready to report!
What low-speed, parking, and no-go zones there are.
And our input helps cities:
Identify popular routes that would potentially benefit from bike lanes;
Discover areas where public transport could be improved;
Locate places in need of shared electric vehicle parking spots.
With the CityFix report tool, cities now have an additional source of valuable information for making their urban spaces more accessible and safe.
“Scooter and e-bike infrastructure is the most impactful factor when it comes to safety.
At Bolt, safety’s our top priority, and we believe providing cities with information to support local infrastructure improvement is critical“.
Dmitri Pivovarov, VP of Rentals at Bolt.
We’ve introduced the feature in Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Spain and plan to roll it out to more markets in the future.
If you want to contribute to changing your city for the better, read on to see how to use the feature.
How to use CityFix
When you’re outside and see something that isn’t quite right — a deep puddle in the middle of the pavement, a broken bench, or any other infrastructure problem — grab your phone and follow these 3 steps:
Open the scooter section of the Bolt app;
Tap ‘Report issue’ in the bottom left corner;
Choose the problem, and report it!
You can also specify the location, provide comments, and add photos so the city authorities can better understand the problem.
We’ll gather all your reports and ensure they regularly reach the relevant city officials.
Rest assured, the provided information will be completely anonymous — we never share your data with anyone.
Let’s make our cities better together
Creating people-friendly cities is about more than sharing data. It takes collaboration between private companies, cities, and people.
CityFix is the perfect example of such a joint effort and another step in our mission of making cities for people, not cars.
By actively suggesting improvements to your city’s infrastructure, you can play an active role in shaping the environment to your needs.
And by choosing shared micromobility over a personal car for shorter trips, you can help reduce road congestion, air pollution, and noise!
