Driver document requirements in Thailand

Drivers in Thailand must provide the documents listed below to be considered for driving on the platform:

  • Driving license
  • National ID Card
  • Vehicle registration
  • Vehicle photo
  • Driver profile picture
  • Ror Yor 17 (Yellow plate) and Ror Yor 18 (Purple sticker) - recommended for DLT requirement

Vehicle Requirements for Registering as an App-Based Taxi

  • Each driver can register only one vehicle under their name.
  • The vehicle owner’s name must match the driver’s name (service provider).
  • If the vehicle is owned by a close relative of the driver, the following additional documents are required:
    • Power of Attorney from the vehicle owner granting permission to use the car.
    • Proof of relationship confirming close relation, such as:
      • Spouse (husband, wife, or same-sex spouse, etc.)
      • Parent or legal guardian (father, mother, adoptive parent, etc.)
      • Child or adopted child
      • Relative with official documentation (fiancé, sibling, cousin, etc.)
      • Co-resident with the same house registration (e.g., unmarried partner living together)
  • The vehicle must be no more than 9 years old.
  • No need to change to a yellow license plate, and there are no specific window film requirements.
  • Vehicles under financing (with the registration book held by the finance company) can still be registered.
    • The actual registration book must be temporarily retrieved for the registration day.
  • Eligible vehicle characteristics:
    • Must have at least 4 doors.
    • Must fall under one of the following categories:
      • 2-door types:
        • 2-door sedan / 2-door van
        • 2-row passenger car / 2-row passenger van
      • 3-door types:
        • 3-door sedan / 3-door van
        • 3-row passenger car / 3-row passenger van
