Get high ratings from your riders
A good trip experience is always appreciated by riders.
How can you ensure you maintain this?
Read these tips and tricks...
#1 Leaving a good impression from the get-go

When you receive a request for a ride, you see the location of the passenger, the length of your journey and the estimated time for your arrival. The passenger usually expects to be picked up at the point they marked. Drive to the right spot before confirming your arrival.
Update your profile image to accurately represent your current appearance.
#2 Not being afraid to contact your passenger
Reached the pickup point. Waited. And nobody showed up?
If your passenger has not arrived 4–5 minutes after you reach the pickup point, call or text them via the Bolt Driver app. You can find the option to call the passenger when you tap the three stripes in the upper right corner of the Bolt app’s active ride screen. They may be waiting behind the corner, still saying farewell indoors, or just not seeing you. Give them time to get to you, and don’t start calling or texting immediately after arriving.

Don’t worry about privacy: our phone masking function hides your number from passengers.

#3 Asking if the set destination is correct.

Before starting the ride, it is useful to confirm the following:
-
The passenger's name - This ensures you're picking up the right passenger. If they have pickup codes enabled, ask for the code instead.
-
The Final Destination – Confirming this helps avoid confusion.
Confusion about the destination may create misunderstandings especially when you accept a back-to-back ride and right after that. Making “Is the set destination final?” your mantra can positively impact the experience of your current and future passengers.

#4 Being polite and helpful
It is polite to say hello or wish someone a nice day. Break the cycle and greet your passengers with a warm hello and send them off with a good wish. It goes a long way and makes the world a bit better.

Helping passengers with heavy luggage them to open the boot or car door is one of the easiest ways to leave a great first impression and create a positive experience for the rider.

#5 Making things convenient

Dirt, crumbs, and spills might ruin the ride experience, even if everything else is fine. Strong perfumes, food scents, or cigarette smoke can be overwhelming for most passengers. A fresh and clean car makes the ride more enjoyable for everyone.

Some like the music to be loud, while some prefer a quiet ride. Some like the A/C on, while some prefer to regulate the temperature with windows. Being considerate of passengers’ preferences is part of creating a positive ride experience.

To ensure smooth cash payments, make sure you have enough change to provide to riders. We recommend carrying change in the amount of 50€.
#6 Staying calm & driving safe
Safety is the most important thing you can offer your passengers. They trust you to get them from A to B. Meeting their expectations is as easy as following the traffic rules.

Be mindful that using your phone might significantly distract you from the road and lead to unsafe situations.
Remember, a well-rested driver provides even better service. Feel hungry or need some time to relax?
During an active ride, tap the hand icon in the top left corner and confirm that you want this to be your last accepted trip. You’ll go offline automatically once you complete the ride.

#7 Chatting only with a willing passenger

Feel free to start a conversation, but try never to force it. If you find something to talk about with your passengers, that’s great! But if you feel like the passengers are reluctant to keep the conversation going, it’s better to stop right there to leave a positive impression.
Also, be mindful of conversation topics that can spark heated debates: politics, religion, or other polarising subjects. Safer topics like weather, pets, or travel are far less likely to turn a friendly chat into an awkward argument.
