How Promo Codes Work for Cash Orders

When a rider uses a promo code, Bolt applies the discount automatically in the app. You don’t need to calculate anything or adjust the fare yourself.

• Only collect the amount shown under “Collect cash from the passenger” at the end of the trip. • DO NOT COLLECT the discounted portion “Bolt pays to your balance” covered by the promo code.

If a rider uses a promo code: • Bolt covers the discounted amount • The promo value is reimbursed to you automatically • Your trip payout remains the same • The amount will appear under “Rider cash discounts” under balance

• To avoid confusion, we recommend following the amount shown in the app and not requesting any additional payment related to promo discounts. • Any fare-related questions (for example, tolls or adjustments) can be checked in the app or clarified with Bolt Support after the trip. • Requesting payment outside the app may lead to misunderstandings and affect the rider’s experience. • If the fare or payout seems unclear, you may complete the trip first and review the final fare breakdown in the app, or reach out to Bolt Support for clarification.
