Add a vehicle to your fleet

Before you add a vehicle, make sure:

• The vehicle has a valid licence disc.
• You have the vehicle’s manufacturer, year, licence plate and colour ready.
• You have a scans AI inspection report for the vehicle, or are ready to complete one.

Open the Vehicles section and select Add vehicle. Fill in the following fields:

• Manufacturer
• Year: the year your vehicle was manufactured
• Licence plate: the registration number shown on your vehicle documents
• Vehicle colour
• Comment (optional)

All car applications require a Bolt Inspect inspection report. This applies to new and existing cars on the platform. Complete your inspection online using the Scans AI app.

Inspection fees:

Car: R249 Motorbike: R199 Payment method: card only To pass, your vehicle must have a valid licence disc and score at least 70% for both interior and exterior condition. Vehicles that score 50 to 69% are only eligible for Bolt Send deliveries.

Cars are eligible for passenger trips once the inspection requirements are met. Motorbikes are eligible for Bolt Send package deliveries only and cannot carry passengers.

Upload your inspection report on the Vehicle documents step. Use the expiration date on your vehicle licence disc as the document expiry date.

Scans or high-quality photos are accepted. Photos of photos cannot be accepted.

Upload a valid Operating License issued by the Department of Transport or the relevant licensing authority. An Operator Card disk is not accepted.

Your document must:

• Clearly show your full name and vehicle details
• Be legible, authentic and officially stamped, where applicable
• Be active. Operating Licenses are valid for up to 5 years, so enter the correct expiry date when you upload.

Upload the official receipt or confirmation letter, with a stamp, showing that you have applied for an Operating License.

Your document must:

• Clearly show your full name and the application date
• Be authentic and issued by a recognised licensing authority
• Include an official stamp or letterhead, if applicable
