How Bolt Business works for companies

As a company admin, you can control all elements of your team’s corporate ground travel from your Company Dashboard:

  • Build travel policies;
  • Set spending allowances;
  • Keep track of every ride taken by members of your team. 

Your first step is to add employees who need to travel for work. You can either add individuals or upload in bulk by uploading a personnel spreadsheet to your account. 

Once you’ve added your employees, they’ll be notified by email that they can now charge work rides to your company. They’ll find the company listed as a payment method in their Bolt app — more on how Bolt Business works for employees below.

With your employees added, you can split them into groups such as Sales, Marketing, or Accounting — this makes it easier to set travel policies based on the needs of people in each team or location.

Bolt Business makes building travel policies a simple task, saving you and your team hours of time in the long run.

Within your dashboard, go to Policies, and with a few clicks, you’ll have a thorough ground travel policy in place:

  • Add expense tracking;
  • Set spending allowances;
  • Limit the number of rides that can be taken within a set period;
  • Restrict travellers to specific days and times;
  • Set the locations individuals can travel to and from.

Track rides and manage payments

Ride reports are added to your dashboard at the end of every journey. This gives you complete visibility of the trips being made and saves your team the time and effort of filling out expense reports. 

In terms of paying for your company’s travel, this can be managed from your dashboard too. You can either pay for all trips once per month by bank transfer or charge each ride to a company card. 

How employees use Bolt Business

Your employees can start travelling for work with Bolt once you’ve added them as a user to your Bolt Business account — all they need is the Bolt app

Your company will be listed as a payment method. And as long as the journey meets the travel rules set by the company, they can go ahead with the trip. For example, if you only allow a group of employees to travel on weekdays, they won’t be able to use the company as a payment method over the weekend. 

This gives employees the power to self-book travel as and when needed, without having to use their own money and later lose time filling out expense reports.
