Engineering Manager, User Authentication
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the User Authentication team at Bolt. In this role, you will drive the design and development of secure, seamless authentication experiences that power the identity and trust infrastructure for our entire platform. You will help build systems that protect and empower our 200M+ customers while enabling smooth access across Bolt's global services.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented software engineers, working closely with Product, Security, Analytics, and Operations teams to deliver impactful and secure user authentication flows across all Bolt applications.

About the role
As an Engineering Manager for the User Authentication Platform team, you will lead a team of backend engineers in designing, building, and scaling secure authentication and identity solutions. Your team will take on exciting product and platform challenges, such as building frictionless multi-factor authentication flows, developing user-centric device management capabilities, and safeguarding the integrity of user sessions at global scale.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
Leading and mentoring a high-performing engineering team focused on user authentication and identity management
Driving the development of platform features such as multi-factor authentication, device and session control, and secure login experiences
Ensuring security and privacy best practices are embedded in everything the team delivers
Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Security, Analytics, and Operations to define strategy and deliver impactful authentication experiences
Championing technical excellence and performance at scale for mission-critical authentication services
Managing team growth and performance, including hiring, mentoring, and enabling career development

You use data and metrics to make informed decisions, especially around system design, risk management, and feature impact
