Assistance animal

According to Portuguese law, passengers with disabilities have the right to travel with an assistance animal in any Bolt category, provided they have the necessary documentation in their possession.

When the required badge or document is presented, transportation of assistance animals is mandatory, at no extra cost to the passenger.

Please ensure the service animal can sit next to the owner during the trip.

Pets

Passengers travelling with pets cannot be refused from travelling in any Bolt category if the pet:

• Is properly accompanied and accommodated in a carrier
• Does not pose risks to the safety of the trip
• Is in good state of health and hygiene.

When all of the above requirements are met, the transportation of pets is mandatory according to Portuguese law.

Any passengers that do not meet the requirements must request the Pet category, or you may reject the journey. You can turn the Pets category off in the app if you wish to avoid requests from passengers who do not properly accommodate their pet.
