Prerequisites for vehicle categories in France

To be eligible to drive on our platform, your vehicle must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a registration certificate (grey card)
  • Have a green card (Insurance)
  • Have a VTC badge (sticker)

For some specific categories, other criteria are required.

Bolt uses the ACRISS classification system for its various categories.

Bolt/Pet & Child Booster Seat

  • Vehicles over 12 years old must be accompanied by interior and exterior photos and will be admitted if they are in perfect condition.
  • Thermal vehicles must not be more than 7 years old
  • The vehicle must have between 4 and 9 seats
  • The vehicle must have at least 4 doors
  • The vehicle must have dimensions of 4.50 m x 1.70 m (except for electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no size limits)
  • The vehicle must have an engine with a power equal to or greater than 84 kW (except for electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no size limits)
  • Hybrid or electric vehicles must be less than 20 years old

Comfort

  • The vehicle must not be more than 7 years old
  • Driver requirements are met
  • Additional conditions relating to quality measures may apply

  • The vehicle must not be more than 7 years old
  • The vehicle must have between 4 and 9 seats
  • The vehicle must have at least 4 doors
  • The vehicle must have an engine with a power equal to or greater than 84 kW
  • This option is available in the following cities: Paris, Lille, Lyon, Nice, Bordeaux, Marseille, Montpellier, Toulouse, Nantes, Strasbourg, Nancy, Reims, Rouen, Tours

Note: When you are not eligible for the Sedan category, you can continue to offer rides via Bolt in the Bolt Basic category while waiting to access the Sedan category.

Van

  • The vehicle must not be more than 7 years old
  • The vehicle must have between 6 and 9 seats
  • The vehicle must have at least 4 doors
  • The vehicle must have an engine with a power equal to or greater than 84 kW (except for electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no size limits) -This option is available in the following cities: Paris, Grenoble, Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Dijon

Green

  • Vehicles over 12 years old must be accompanied by interior and exterior photos and will be admitted if they are in perfect condition.
  • The vehicle must be electric or hybrid
  • Hybrid or electric vehicles must be less than 20 years old

XL

  • The vehicle must have between 6 and 9 seats
  • The vehicle must have at least 4 doors
  • The vehicle must have an engine with a power equal to or greater than 84 kW (except for electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no size limits)
  • This option is available in the following cities: Lille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Toulouse, Nantes, Strasbourg, Annecy, Biarritz-Bayonne.

  • The category is reserved for women
  • The vehicle must have between 4 and 9 seats
  • The vehicle must have at least 4 doors
  • The vehicle must have minimum dimensions of 4.50 m x 1.70 m (except for electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no size limits)
  • The vehicle must have an engine with a power equal to or greater than 84 kW (except hybrid and electric vehicles)
