Driver Registration Made Simple

You can either become a private driver with your own car or a rented one, or get a job in a fleet that cooperates with our platform.

Capture clear images of all required documents before starting.
Minimum Requirements

Have valid documents

A vehicle that meets our minimum quality and age standards: manufactured from 2012 onwards.

Smartphone owner (running Android 9.0 or iOS 14 or higher) in order to use the Bolt Driver App.

Have high quality standards of service in the industry.
Documents Required
To work with the Bolt platform as a private driver, you must have:

National ID/ Passport

Driver's license (NTSA)

Police Clearance Certificate (DCI)

Driver profile picture

Vehicle Insurance
-
PSV Badge (NTSA)

Vehicle Inspection Report (NTSA)

Vehicle Logbook or Sales Agreement

National ID
We accept all versions of the Kenyan National ID i.e. those issues before 2013, after 2013 and after Dec 2023.
Driver's License
There are three different versions of the Driving License. The oldest license version on paper can be accepted only with an extension slip.
International Driver’s Licenses are also accepted.
We also accept Peleza DL Report.
Police Clearance Certificate
This is also called the Certificate of Good Conduct. It is issued by the DCI - Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
We also accept the Peleza Criminal Check Report.
Vehicle Inspection Report
NTSA Annual inspection report indicates that the vehicle meets the safety and reliability requirements for use on public roads.
This is required for car drivers only.
PSV Badge
This is required for car owners only. Boda drivers are NOT required to provide this document.
Vehicle Photo
Vehicle number plate must be visible in the picture.
