Most of the training can be completed online. However, all TVDE courses are legally required to include 6 hours of in-person practical driving training.

Portugal - Mainland
How to apply?
- Have a Portuguese citizen card or Portuguese residence permit;
- Have a Portuguese driving license / IMT has accepted the request to exchange driving license;
- Hold a driving license for more than three years for category B with an endorsement in group II;
- Be fluent in Portuguese or understand the Portuguese language;
Course program
The course consists of 50 hours of training (including 6 hours of mandatory in-person practical driving lesson) and covers the following topics:
- Communication and interpersonal relationships;
- Legal regulations for driving;
- Driving techniques;
- Regulation of the activity;
- Emergency situations and first aid;
- Individual driving of vehicles;

FAQ - TVDE Driver Course
To access the TVDE driver training, you must ensure that you have the following documentation:
Portuguese citizen card or Portuguese residence permit; Have a Portuguese driver's license/IMT (Integration and Transport Authority) approved for a driver's license exchange; Have held a category B driver's license for more than three years with an endorsement in group II; Be fluent in Portuguese or understand Portuguese;
Many of our partner schools offer online training, making it easier to fit the course around your schedule.
However, Portuguese law requires all TVDE courses to include 6 hours of in-person practical driving training, regardless of the school or course format.
FAQ - Fleet Registration
Required documents for registration:
- Citizen Card/Residence Permit/CPLP/CRCUE;
- Driver's License (Having held a driver's license for more than 3 years); Driver's license exchange forms are not accepted.
You must also provide the partner with:
- Your vehicle registration number for practical training (passenger vehicles);
- Full address.
After completing the course and passing:
- Apply for a TVDE license at the IMT (Municipal Transport Institute).
- Find a fleet to work with.
- Register on the Bolt platform.
- Start working as a driver.
To enter the recruitment process as a TVDE driver with one of our fleets, you must have the following documentation:
- Identification document
- Driver's license with Group II endorsement
- TVDE driver's certificate
- Criminal record clearance certificate
After receiving your TVDE driver's certificate, the next step is to find a fleet to work with. Any questions regarding working conditions should be clarified directly with your fleet.
