Streamlined Criminal Record Checks (CRCs)

Every Bolt driver is required to have a clear criminal record to operate on the Bolt platform.

How to get checked

We've tried to make this process as easy as possible by providing up to 200 Huru (Postnet and Jetline) locations nationwide to have your fingerprints captured. Check out the steps below on how to complete this requirement.

What must I do?

Visit your nearest Huru partner (Postnet or Jetline store) to have your fingerprints taken. You will then receive an email from Huru with a PDF file attached. This PDF is your CRC. Upload the PDF file onto your Bolt profile using the driver portal. This can be found under the documents section in the Bolt driver app.

What must I bring?

- A debit card, credit card or cash to pay in-store. - Your ID document. One of the following: - RSA ID card or green ID book - RSA driver’s license (with PrDP) - At PostNet: Foreign passport required - At Bolt: Temporary PrDP accepted Note: Temp PrDPs and Asylum seeker/Refugee papers are not accepted.

How long is a CRC valid for?

Your Criminal Record Check (CRC) is valid until your PrDP expires, which can be up to 24 months. However, the CRC must be submitted within 12 months of its issue date.

How much does it cost?

- R280: Standard 24-48 hours - R330: Premium <5 hours - R480: Priority <2 hours

When can I get my fingerprints captured?

Most Postnet and Jetlines stores are open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More information about CRC

Criminal record checks (CRC) is a documented record of an individual's criminal convictions and pending cases, thus an important part of the Bolt Driver Registration process. The CRC serves as a valuable tool to verify a driver’s identity and assess past involvement in any criminal activities: misdemeanours, arrests, pending court cases, felonies, convictions, active warrants, incarceration and even traffic violations.
