Business Development Manager, Grocery/Retail

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to manage a portfolio of grocery / retail partners in Ghana.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving the adoption and expansion of the Grocery / Retail solutions.

What you can expect
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Define key enterprise leads in the Grocery / Retail area in the country, while negotiating and closing deals by fostering strong relationships with business partners in the Grocery / Retail area.
Maintain communication with business partners through various channels, to support their progress, to act as the main point of contact during onboarding, to address operational issues, and to ensure optimal customer experiences. Additionally, it is to analyze key performance indicators, to define growth and marketing strategies, and to coordinate plans to drive performance improvement and monetization..
Manage budgeting, analyze performance metrics for improvement insights, and forecast growth trends to assess business goal achievement.
Develop and execute operational strategies to address challenges and ensure smooth business partner activation, aligning with the commercial strategy during expansion phases.
Stay informed about market trends and competition while contributing to the development of frameworks and playbooks to improve business practices.
Work closely with marketing, product, customer success, campaigns, partner operations, and customer service departments to drive business growth.
What we expect
About you:
You have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in grocery/retail business development, account management, B2B sales, or related fields, with a proven track record of achieving business growth and sales targets.
You are fluent English and the local language, with excellent proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
You have strong communication and negotiation skills to engage decision-makers and build long-term relationships with business partners.
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to leverage data for decision-making and improving partner performance through insights.
You are able to adapt quickly to changes, proactively address challenges, and develop effective, solution-oriented strategies..
