Driver Registration Made Simple
A driver can:

National ID Card
We accept all EU and Non-EU national ID cards that are still within the validity period.
Driver's License
We accept all EU driver's licences that are still within the validity period.
Driver's Permit
The Driver's Permit - TAG is mandatory in Malta if a driver intends to start working as a chauffeur for hire or reward.
This licence can be issued and obtained at TM - Transport Malta headquarters or by applying online.
Jobsplus Engagement Certificate
The Engagement form records the commencement of the employee's employment. It is an official document showing the client's employment history.
This document can be issued and obtained from Jobsplus or by applying online.
Police Conduct Certificate
This is also called the Certificate of Good Conduct. It is issued by the CCO - Conduct Certificate Office.
VAT Certificate
Taxable individuals are required to register for VAT through the electronic VAT Online Services Portal of the Commissioner for Revenue of Malta. Taxable persons are those who engage in economic activities, regardless of whether it is full-time or part-time.
However, if a person who does not carry out an economic activity but occasionally makes an intra-community supply of new means of transport, they are considered a taxable person.
Light Passenger Transport Services
This is required for vehicle owners, Fleet Partners and Self-Employed drivers. The Operator Licence allows the holder to operate Light Passenger Transport Vehicles.
This licence can be issued and obtained at TM - Transport Malta headquarters by submitting an application online.
Driver's Photo
The driver's photo should be taken up close (selfie), no caps, sunglasses, provocative photos, distorted images and photo of a photo. Keep the photo as simple and professional as possible.

Safety Kit
Licence Disk
In accordance with the Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act and all Subsidiary Legislation, every motor vehicle to be used on the road must have a valid licence.
This licence can be issued and obtained at TM - Transport Malta headquarters by submitting an application online.
Vehicle Registration Certificate
This is also called Vehicle Logbook. It is issued by the TM - Transport Malta.
Light Passenger Transport Services
This is required for vehicle owners only. The Operator Licence allows the holder to operate Light Passenger Transport Vehicles.

Airport Sticker
To register Y-plate vehicles for inner lane access, applicants are to submit an application form at Malta International Airport’s Main Car Park Kiosk.
Safety Kit (First Aid)
The Safety Kit must include the following: A Warning Triangle, Fire Extinguisher and First Aid Kit.
Vehicle Photo
The vehicle photo has to present the full vehicle (front and side) additionally the number plate must be visible in the picture also.
