If you're having trouble starting the engine, here are some tips that might help:
Important note: If the vehicle is left unlocked and unused for more than 15 minutes, the engine may automatically lock for security purposes. You can unlock the engine using the app.
For cars with automatic gearbox:
- Ensure the gear stick is in the P (parking) position. If the previous driver left it in D (drive) and turned off the engine, an error will appear on the dashboard, preventing you from starting the car.
- Press the brake pedal and press and hold the start button (or use the key to start the engine)
- Put the gear stick into D (drive) and gently press the speed pedal to start moving.
For cars with a manual gearbox:
- Move the gear to Neutral position or press the clutch
- Press the Start button or turn the ignition key to start the car
For cars with a classic physical key::
*Steering wheel may get locked. To unlock, while holding your steering wheel in the right direction, insert your key into the ignition, and start the engine
For hybrid cars (especially, Toyota models):
*The petrol engine does not need to start after pressing the Start button. The car is ready to move in EV (electric-vehicle) mode, confirmed by the READY sign on the dashboard
